Located in historic downtown Aiken, the Crosby-Miller School of Dance has been an Aiken tradition for over 50 years. First founded by Carl Crosby in 1960, the school has the distinction of being the first school of dance in Aiken. Mr. Crosby later founded the Aiken Civic Ballet in 1971. The Crosby tradition continues today with Director Diane Toole Miller, a former Crosby student and Aiken Civic Ballet member.
Many of our dancers have been selected to attend the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts in Dance. Some of these dancers are: Betty Skeen, Robert Poe, John Doucet, Amanda Key (2010), Julia Wofford (2011), and Sydney Maddox (2015).
